++++++ Gangchen Samling School ++++++

The G. Samling School provides a conducive environment where carpet children and lower middle class children study and play together. Such activities help us to build up feeling of friendship, mutual help and self- confidence, so that they can later adjust well in the society. The school was established and runs with fundamental ideology of non- discrimination based on gender, castle religion or ethnic background. Nepal offers a multi- ethnic and multi religious practical spirituality that the Gangchen Samling School intends to nourish and preserve.

Library

The school has a small library of its own. The students are taken to the library once a week. The library has plenty of worthy books. It has collection of various encyclopedias relating to a variety of subjects. Some books have been donated by guests and visitors from the west. These books have been added assets to the students. The school has collection of story books. The school has a plan to make proper library room by adding more useful books in the near future.

A special word of thanks to Ms. Sharon Dawson of Help in Action and her mother who voluntarily collected a container of used books from England and shipped it all the way to Gangchen Samling School for the school library for which the school will always be grateful to her.

Computer

GSS follows computer studies as one of the major subjects in the school. Computer educations are given to the students above grade V and are taught by the experts in this field. The school has a well accessed computer room which is equipped with many computers and has internet access as well. We are very much thankful to our foreign donors who has sponsored the computers in our school.

Healthcare

The school also gives importance to the personal health and hygiene of the students. Each student is examined after every academic quarter and given necessary treatment as required by the student. The school has been conducting regular health care programmes in association with various clubs. The school has also been giving polio immunization at times as per the government policy.

The school is thankful to the Himalayan Healing Center that provides the School its services at times of need. Besides, we have also been receiving voluntary services from foreign doctors and nurses who come to visit Nepal.

Scholarship

The school has been providing scholarship to the students on the ground of their academic performances and family background. School determines and classifies the needy and deserving students and decides for full or partial scholarship.
